• Carry out a speed survey on Putteridge Road
• Review traffic calming measures in the area to ensure they are properly being used and enforced in order to minimise dangerous driving and serious accidents

Residents in and around Putteridge Road in Stopsley are concerned about the increasing issue of dangerous driving in the area. There have been at least five hospitalisations in the area, including children. Some are living with lasting physical and mental damage due to accidents in the area.

Putteridge Primary School and Putteridge High School are both on the road, and frequently used by children and parents.

Residents believe there are a number of issues that have contributed to these incidents. These include:

• the speed limit being 20mph towards the school and 30mph on the way back
• issues with obscured signage
• unclearly marked speed bumps are placed by the school with unclear road markings and unclear signage, meaning drivers can often be unaware they are on the road, and therefore  drive over them at speed and drive through the zebra crossings
• there used to be school crossing patrollers outside the school during school run time, which has now been removed
• there were bollards placed on the corner near Putteridge High School in an attempt to deter parking on pavements and the corner, but these have not acted as a deterrent
