Notice
is hereby given, for the purposes of Paragraphs 20 (2) and (3) of the Local
Government (Committees and Political Groups)Regulations 1990 that it is proposed that Alternative Arrangements to
those prescribed by Sections 15 and 16 of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 be adopted by the Council in
relation to appointments to:
a) the
Overview and Scrutiny Committee and to any Sub-Committee(s) established by it;
b) the
Taxi and Private Hire Licensing Committee and to any Sub-Committee(s)
established by it;
c)
the Appointments Panel;
d)
the Standards Committee and any Sub-Committee(s)
established by it;
e)
the Housing Appeal & Review Panel; and
f)
the Joint Health Overview & Scrutiny Committee
(BLMK STP)
g) the Joint Health Overview & Scrutiny Committee (Mount Vernon)
(Notes:
1. The
effect of this is that if the proposals are approved the rules requiring the
membership of Committees to reflect the political balance on the Council will
be disapplied in relation to (a) the Overview and Scrutiny Committee and to any
Sub-Committee(s) by it (b) the Taxi and Private Hire Licensing Committee
and to any Sub-Committee(s) established by it (c) the
Appointments Panel (d) the Standards Committee and any Sub-Committee(s)
established by it (e) the Housing Appeal & Review Panel & (f) the Joint
Health Overview & Scrutiny Committee (BLMK STP)
2. The
proposals to disapply the rules relating to political balance may only be
adopted by the Council if no member Of the Council votes against the proposals)
