I am a mother of four children, three of whom have attended university. I have worked in the public, private and charity sector and have been a school governor in Luton for over 15 years. I am a part Qualified Accountant, a Member of the Chartered Management Institute and a Fellow of the Association of Accounting Technicians.

I have lived in Luton for 30 years
• Which ward do you represent?
I have been a councillor for 10 years, currently representing Lewsey ward.
• Which portfolio do you represent/boards do you sit on/chair?
I am currently the Executive Member for Traded Services and sit on the Arts Council -South East Council, and the board of Foxhall Homes.
• Why did you become a councillor?
I became a councillor to try and improve the educational standards in Luton. To speak up for the town and improve the life chances of residents
• What do you love about Luton?
I love Luton’s diversity, strong community spirit, and affordability. That it is so close to green open space and rural space.
Since living in Luton I have never needed to go to London to purchase Caribbean groceries or African products.
• What issues are you most passionate about in your role as councillor?
In my position as councillor, I am passionate about education, arts and culture, Health and fitness, equality and finance.
Lewsey Ward Councillors surgery takes place every Saturday at Lewsey Community Centre, Landrace Road, Luton LU4 OSW from 10 am to 12 noon.
